Design Meeting Structure Presentation
After becoming a lead on the graphic design team, one of my first initiatives was to improve morale by switching up the structure of our weekly meetings. Over a period of time when we lacked correct leadership, we were all having trouble finding our voices as well as being heard by other members of the company. Our time together became overwhelmingly centered around office politics, and less about improving our craft. After realizing these conversations were not helping our situation, I took it upon myself to create a short presentation to realign the group by encouraging strength and positivity with inspiration from leaders in our field, and a solution to our meeting structure.
The response was extremely positive, and the team started making more of an effort to share projects and ideas. We even saw changes in the way designers interacted with team members outside of design, handling themselves with more confidence and patience.
